Volunteering

Volunteering your time or skills is a wonderful way to show you care. It’s also a great way of meeting people, “making a difference” to the world we live in, and having new experiences.

Volunteering is all about giving a very valuable commodity – your time! And in return you will discover the satisfaction and peace of mind that comes from helping others, as well as having some fun and learning new skills.

Being a volunteer for Fountain Hospice and Palliative Care Services can be fun, interesting and creative. Everyone has their own special skills so the experience you have gained in other walks of life can help us.

Current opportunities include:

  • Family Support (involves a training course)
  • Fundraising and Events Support

Volunteering is not all hard work. It can be sociable and fun!

As a volunteer for Fountain Hospice and Palliative Care Services you could help with a variety of admin tasks, fundraising office, hands-on hospice service care, plan and manage fundraising events, give talks to raise our profile or work on special projects.

How much time do I have to give?

Many volunteers commit to a regular time, say half a day or a few hours per week, however, we try to be as flexible as possible allowing volunteers to work when they are able.

What do I do if I want to become a volunteer?

You need to be 18 years of age and contact us to enquire about the possibilities. As a condition of volunteering, we will expect you to attend training sessions as required for your chosen task and sign a disclaimer.

We look forward to welcoming you as a volunteer!
