Who do we care for?
We care for anyone diagnosed as terminally ill, with 6 months or less life expectancy. We also provide support for families of the patients.
How can I find out more about your palliative care services?
Simply contact us and ask for the Director, who will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have about our services.
Is there a waiting period for your home hospice services?
There is no waiting period. We provide our home hospice and other services based on your eligibility, which we will discuss with you on enquiry.
Can I receive your services if I live alone without a carer?
We do not provide the services of a full time carer or direct nursing care at present. Our practitioners will be able to make suggestions for your care and liaise with your medical practitioner and palliative care nurses.
What are the options if I can no longer be cared for at home?
We can refer you to an appropriate hospital or palliative care unit, or look into community support and volunteer services where possible.
How much do I have to pay for your services?
Nothing! Our service is free to all. However we are dependant on donations from the community and the gratitude of the families we care for in order to continue our services.
How can I make a donation?
Donations can be made on-line, by cheque, or by bank transfer. Bequests are gratefully received. Within Australia, donations of $2 or more are tax deductible. Please visit our donations page for more details.
Do you need volunteers?
Yes! The majority of our services are provided by volunteers. Volunteering is a great way to give something back to the community and make a worthwile contibution to our society. Please visit our volunteering page for more details.
Which areas do you cover?
The Fountain Hospice and Palliative Care Services currently covers the Lower North Shore and Northern Beaches of Sydney.
